Discussion on Budget 2023 in the Department of Accounting and Business Statistics Neglect of social security but better option for low salaried employees: Prof. Bhanawat In the Department of Accounting and Business Statistics, the budget 2023-24 presented by the Finance Minister was discussed by the departmental faculty members and scholars under the chairmanship of the Head of the Department, Prof. Shoorveer Singh Bhanawat. At the beginning of the discussion, CA Anima Chordia told about the main points of the budget. Researcher Deepak Suthar explained in detail about the new income tax system and amendments in other provisions of income tax. Researcher Ashok Singh Rana explained about the impact on poverty due to reduction in MNREGA funds in the budget. On one hand, the budget of MNREGA has been reduced, on the other hand, many arrears of last year will be cleared from it. Researcher Gaurav Surana told about the impact on social security. He believes that the government is doing it at the monthly level. Researcher Kapil said that in this budget, more focus has been given on skill development whereas no information has been given about how employment will come. Researcher Ashok Sharma explained the effect of changes in the provisions of Section 54 and 54 (f) of the Income Tax Act. Assistant Professor Dr. Parul Dashora told about the subsidy available in housing loans that the government announces but does not implement. Assistant Professor Dr. Asha Sharma explained in detail about the positive and negative effects of the budget. Assistant Professor Pushparaj Meena informed about the impact on the residential area. Assistant Professor Dr. Shilpa Vardia informed about the impact of new tax system changes on the middle class and said that this budget is extremely pessimistic.
